Spinal surgery is frequently used in treating lumbar disc extrusions. Of course, there are cases when surgery is necessary for such conditions; however, long-term results are often far from optimal if functional rehabilitation has not been properly designed and performed. Notably, in most cases of lumbar disc extrusion, it is possible to conservatively treat such conditions with very good short- and long-term results. In this post, I am presenting evidence of successful recovery of L5-S1 disc extrusion following 4.5 months of manual and exercise therapy. Disc extrusion recovery
